Druid Cloak, the mysterious producer from North America with a penchant for the shape-shifting concept of druid’s lore, returns with ‘Bastion of the Sterling Thrones’, the third EP in a series of location-based concept recordings, and his first for Bad Taste Records.

For the story behind this concept, let Druid Cloak himself set the scene:

“Bastion of the Sterling Thrones is a tale of rescue. It follows a young hero through a battle to save his true love from the grips of evil.

The story opens upon the epic introduction of the Archpriest. Thick 808s, down-tuned choir vocals & chopped jungle breaks encapsulate the power of the Archpriest and his vile, terrifying nature.

Sterling Thrones is the soundtrack for the battle between light and dark. Mutilated, tinny arp runs, shuffling drums and the exhales of struggle set the tone for the climax of the storyline.

Our hero has defeated the Archpriest only by a thread. The Poultice spirals us into a scene of a healing hero reaching for his princess. Angsty vocal cuts and lush leads provide a perfect backdrop for the happy ending for our hero.”

Druid Cloak lands on Bad Taste Records with a wealth of high profile support already behind him, having received radio play and backing from the likes of B.Traits, Oneman, Ryan Hemsworth, Sepalcure and Bobby Tank. DJ Shadow, also featured a Druid Cloak track in his Radio 1 essential mix. His debut ‘The Grove’ EP came on the latter’s Symbols imprint towards the end of 2012, and in the months since he’s become one of electronic music’s most promising and explorative talents.

His three new tracks here come backed by reworkings by two Bad Taste regulars, Tony Quattro - who provides a moody interpretation of ‘The Poultice’ - and Timbah, who litters a salvo of grizzly kicks and snares over ‘Sterling Thrones’.
