A new EP from London’s Lean Low and LA Native DJ Dubplates (ex-Rader Klan DJ) that plows comfortably through varying styles of “new school” rap beats. Inspired by frequent positive experiences of consuming hallucinogens at Disneyland.
The EP eases in with the sunny laid back sounds of opening track “Cloud 9.9”, where vinyl crackles and fuzzes are left in for good measure, before sliding into title track “High at the Fairground”. The main driving force on this one is a dizzying and addictive loop that wouldn’t be out of place pumping from a fairground tannoy speaker. “High At The Fairground” is equal parts airy and codeine drenched, with subtle melodies creeping in intermittently, keeping the track floaty and intriguing.
Things take a more grimy turn for third track “Air Time”, as Lean Low introduces UK influences whilst DJ Dubplates continues to weave through timely rap sounds as the heavy drums kick in. Fourth and final track “Spun”, signs off the EP in a similar fashion to how it began; enjoying the laid back, wavy and melodic ride.

Wrote this label twice about not getting this record to no avail and now I just want my money back, but I don’t know if I’ll ever get it. Don’t trust this label and don’t buy from them because they’ll rip you off and then ignore your messages!! Saybou Chriyef
