Mind Like Water is the new album from Darkstorm, featuring 14 tracks of Hip-Hop & Down-Tempo Beats with guest features from Rawkid, Coco, Seapa Dee, Hekla, Kayo Chingonyi & Trellion. The limited edition grey cassette tape also includes a digital copy of the album too.

This new album shows the versatility of Darkstorms production skills – having released the grime single ‘Who I Am’ with Walter Ego earlier this year, ‘Mind Like Water’ is a much more mellow affair that delves into Hip Hop & Electronic territory. Unsurprising when these are the two genres that his label Bad Taste Records specialises in.

The album is mainly instrumental and understated; like the ambient down-tempo vibe of ‘Hollow Head’ with its eerie synths and sparse, reverberated clicks. However, there are guest MC features from Trellion, Rawkid, Coco, Seapa Dee, Hekla & Kayo Chingonyi. Title track ‘Mind Like Water’ is remnant of the type of beat you could imagine Ghostface Killah rapping on but Sheffield MC’s Rawkid & Coco handle mic duties with double-time grime delivery. In total there’s 13 original tracks from Darkstorm and a house remix from American producer Henry Krinkle.
